Self Reflection Essay

This year, I have learned a lot about culture, language, and literacy through my English 110 class. I have gained a deeper understanding of how language is tied to our identity and how our accent can shape the way we are perceived by others. I have also learned about the boldness of using different vernacular, and how it can help to convey meaning and express our unique identities.

One of the most significant things I have learned is the character of languages, and how they can vary greatly from one culture to another. I have been exposed to a variety of different languages and dialects and have learned about the rich histories and cultures that are associated with them. This has helped me to develop a greater appreciation for the diversity of language and culture that exists in the world. Phase one of the accentuated the beauty and importance of language and literacy.

In phase two, I learned how to utilize rhetorical analysis. The importance of context is one of the most important things I learned about rhetorical analysis. To analyze a text or speech effectively, it is necessary to consider the historical, cultural, and situational context in which it was created. This includes comprehending the intended audience for the text or speech, as well as the speaker’s or writer’s goals and motivations. I also learned how important it is to consider the various rhetorical devices and strategies employed in a text or speech. These can include emotional appeals, rational appeals, and authority appeals, among many others.

Understanding how these devices are used allows us to gain a better understanding of the persuasive techniques used and how they may be effective in influencing the audience. This has helped me in my phase 2 assignment of convincing the audience of making comedy less restrictive. It has also helped me identify which details, sources, and context would be important for my researched essay.

Writing a research paper for the first time can be both difficult and rewarding. It entails posing a research question, conducting research to gather data, organizing and analyzing the data, and presenting the findings in a clear and concise manner. Choosing a topic of interest to you is one of the first steps in writing a research essay. Keep careful records of your sources as you conduct your research, including the author, title, publication date, and any other relevant information. This will assist you in properly citing your sources and avoiding plagiarism in your essay. You should also make sure to clearly state your research question and main findings, as well as provide a thorough discussion of your work’s implications.

Finally, proofread and edit your essay thoroughly to ensure that it is typo free and well-written. Writing a research essay takes a significant amount of time and effort, but it can be a very rewarding experience that will help you develop important research and writing skills. Phase 3 of the assignments has been the cumulation of all my learning and efforts. Now, after having completed English 110, I am able to write content papers.

Overall, my English 110 class has been a valuable learning experience that has taught me a lot about culture, language, and literacy. I am grateful for the opportunity to have learned these important lessons and I look forward to continuing to develop my understanding of these concepts in the future.
